Coaches Corner

Welcome back to everyone for 2019. I am extremely excited about this season and what lies ahead and looking forward to what this group can achieve.

The return of Colter Lasher Marcas Alipate is a huge bonus for the club as both believe they have more to offer the Buccs in 2019. New Import Willie Conner has fitted in from day 1 with squad and comes with a reputation of being a very strong defender. 19 year old Braedon Inger has come from New Zealand to grow his basketball career and I am sure you are going to like what he brings to the team along with Brendon Dinardo. Brendon is a decorated state junior player and has represented East Perth in SBL in the past. James Paringatai is in his 3rd year at the Buccs and is looking at having a bigger impact this year. Add those to our young locals in Wil Galvin Joey Iaria Dylan Myers Oliver Haste and local experienced players in Liam Hunt Aaron Ralph and Mat Wundenberg we have a very strong and deep squad to go into the 2019 season.

We also have another 10 young locals that have done preseason and looking to push for selections throughout the season by putting in good performances in the d league system. Which include State U18 Country Players Josh Hunt and River Joseph. Congratulations! Also Aiden Gardiner, Shaedon Edwards who were close to making that team. Over the summer we had 24 training through preseason and to their credit have all stuck at it and now waiting for their opportunity to play.

Rockingham are first opponents for 2019 and they believe they missed an opportunity to win the championship last year and they have put together one of the strongest list in the SBL this year. 2 Quality imports young gun Luke Travers Wildcat Greg Hire Ex Wildcat Captain Brad Robbins and tall Chaudier Pal plus guards Godfrey & Beard will make for some interesting match ups. Whatever the result tonight I am sure you will be treated to high quality game.
